Lake Poway Skimmers was first chartered as an AMA club in June 1989. The city of Poway has granted us exclusive permission to use this recreation area and water reservoir as a RC flying site on specific days and times to coincide with other users of this facility. We have no permanent structures or storage sheds available at the lake. Site setup and break down, required by our agreement with the city, is performed by our members each flying session. We general fly two or three Mondays afternoons each month (1pm to 4PM, non-holidays). Flying any other day or time is not allowed by our club charter and agreement with the city. Our membership primary comes from other area clubs as we have no flight instructors nor can we support a new pilot training program at this site. Due to our low overhead and site maintenance our membership dues are very minimal. AMA membership is required in the pit area and club membership is required to fly. Come out and enjoy a beautiful afternoon at the lake and let us show you how easy it is to fly off water and answer any questions you might have.
