MEMBER GUESTS AND GUEST FLYING
While there is no guest flying, a sponsored AMA member may fly at the site for the purpose of considering membership with the Lake Poway Skimmers on a one-time basis. Members may also have a limited number of non-flying guests at site. However, we ask that members instruct their guests to keep clear of RC activities in the pits and on the pier. Members must make the Safety Officer aware of all non-member guests at the site, regardless of whether they are participating in RC operations or just observing. Guests, under the age of 18, must be accompanied by their member sponsor (who must be an adult club member) at all times. Members and their guests must comply with all rules and any additional instructions requested by the Safety Officer. Including being asked to remain outside the roped off area if the officer deems this necessary.
AMA allows AMA members to buddy box/monitor non-AMA members for demo/recruiting and special events (i.e.: Cub Scout packs, new AMA/Club member candidate) purposes on a one-time basis. Thereafter they must be an AMA member to be covered under the AMA site insurance, that is issued to Lake Poway Skimmers club, to participate in any RC activities at the site. This insurance covers all RC operations (plane, boat) at the site.
Note AMA membership is FREE for those under 19 and Skimmers membership is also free for those under 19 who are active AMA members. However, club members under 18 must be accompanied by their sponsor who must be an adult club member while participating in any RC activities at the site.
