Membership Request Form
Membership in the club is open to anyone who is a current member of the AMA and who can furnish a reference from any club within the San Diego Association of Modelers or a current member of this club of your ability to solo a radio controlled model aircraft competently.Please fill out and submit the form below if you wish to request membership in the Lake Poway Skimmers. Once your request for membership is received you will be contacted. The dues are $20 for 2024 payable by cash or check only. All new members will apply and be accepted for membership at the Lake Poway flying site on one of the scheduled flying days.
For your convenience you can download the Poway Skimmers Application Form and bring it with you to the lake or you can submit the online Membership Request Form below and someone will contact you.
A few of you have ask me if we do presentations at other clubs or related RC events for the purpose of recruiting new members.
The short answer is NO, we do not actively attend area club meetings or related RC events to pitch recruitment for new members.
Our membership primarily comes from other area clubs as we have limited/restricted flying times. We rely on our existing members to recruit new members by word of mouth.
So if you know someone you think would be a good fit for our club that has an interest in float flying please invite them to join you/us at the lake some Monday and show them around. Please review the rules for guest fliers on the club web site.
